Countless OIB Players Exposed in Online Leak, Assumed Coordinated Attack
April 1, 2027; Chicago, IL- Earlier this week, dozens of OIB players were exposed in a series of incriminating photos that were released online. The images, which include screenshots of text messages, surveillance camera photos, and pictures taken via phone cameras, have caused shock and outrage at a time when the OIB Players Association has been fighting to project a professional image of its players as it negotiates increased player rights with the OIB in hopes of bringing an ongoing league-wide strike to an end.
The majority of the images include players engaging in assumed extramarital affairs, fraternizing with known gang members, using drugs, and consorting with prostitutes. Others show everything from property destruction alleged to have been caused by players to failed sobriety tests.

Johnson Humphries, an OIB All-Star who is married to newscaster Vanessa Humphries, is spotted with two unidentified women drinking champagne in a hot tub. This is one of several incriminating images related to OIB players that were anonymously leaked online this week.
“This is clearly the effort of someone who’s trying to undermine the efforts of the OIBPA as we negotiate on behalf of the players that make this league what it is,” said OIBPA President Damian McCollum. “While I have no evidence that this is the act of someone we’re negotiating with, common sense tells me there’s no more likely suspect than someone we’re sitting across the table from.”
McCollum and the OIBPA have been actively negotiating with the OIB and franchise owners in an effort to increase player rights across the basketball league. Players are demanding a role in staff and coach hiring, rights to team ownership, and allocation of “resting time” during the season, among other less divisive requests.

Carson Porter (identified in surveillance footage) is photographed meeting with a reputed drug dealer just blocks away from the Cloud Arena, where he suits up for the Seattle Haze.
While OIB executives, particularly newly-appointed President Sonya Gutierrez, have expressed a stance that seems more aligned with the players, several franchise owners have been outspoken in their rejection of the player demands. Said Peter Arlington, founder of ZeusX and owner of the OIB’s Chicago Brawn, “This is a business like any other. Players are the workforce and, the truth is, the workforce can be replaced. There are thousands upon thousands of players that would jump at the opportunity to play in the OIB. But how many people can bankroll an organization, build infrastructure and arenas, and manage a business like each of our owners does? There’s a reason there are 48 of us and almost 20 times as many of them. And right now, they’re seriously overplaying their hand.”
Added fellow owner Bill Curtis, “I put up over two billion dollars to bring a team to Nashville. What did any of the players on any of these teams put up? Not a dime.”

Malcolm Sealy, point guard for the San Diego Wave, poses with an outlawed assault rifle in front of an SUV that has been identified as the property of reputed gang leader Lloyd “Full Clip” Jackson. Other images released online this week show Sealy with Jackson and many well-known gang members from the San Diego area.
While Gutierrez and her team have continued to claim that the two sides are close, the divide between the owners and players has become more pronounced in recent weeks. Following this week’s online leaks, it seems likely that the divide will only continue to grow, though the scales may now shift in the direction of the owners.
“This is a smear campaign,” said superagent Mercury “Merc” Grey, who represents several high-profile players that were targets of the attacks. Grey, the former head of marketing for the OIB who is often credited for accelerating the power shift toward players, continued, “I’m confident that we’ll soon learn who’s behind this coordinated attack on our players, and when we do, I think we’ll see this strike come to a very quick end…one in which most of the player’s demands are met.”

An image of reality TV star and clothing designer Jessica Deetjen, which she claims was taken by a friend moments after her ex-boyfriend, Las Vegas Luck forward Cody Langdon destroyed her studio and pushed her to the floor. The photo, which was taken four months ago, was leaked online this week.
It remains to be seen if Grey will be proven right, but in the meantime it continues to look like there’s no end in sight for the strike, and that means OIB games will continue to be put on hold and fans will continue to become more disenchanted by the world’s sole professional basketball league.

Miami Nights shooting guard Nigel Sharpe sits at a table of drugs and money with known gang members from his hometown of Little Rock. The photo was obtained via anonymous email by a Miami-area sports reporter earlier this week.

2026 OIB MVP runner-up Joelle Robinson sleeps in a bed with two unidentified women, neither of whom is his long-time wife Kia Williams. The photo leaked online earlier this week and Robinson has refused to comment on the incriminating image.
